Freelance Logo Designer in New Jersey - Branding and Logo design for Common Grounds Coffee House

Friends don’t let friends have boring logos…

Your logo isn’t just a visual representation of your brand…it tells your story. It symbolizes what you’re all about, what’s most important to you.

I am a freelance logo designer in New Jersey. Part of my design process is asking questions and listening to your story. This allows me to create a unique and eye catching logo design that builds your brand and creates a conversation with your community. This is the logo mark, full logo, icon design for merch, and pattern designs I created as part of my custom logo design services for Common Grounds Coffee House. When I first sat down to talk with the super kind owners of CG, they didn’t necessarily know what they wanted their branding to look like (which is totally fine, because that’s my job) but they knew what they wanted it to feel like and what it needed to represent.

They wanted to convey that this is a place for their community. To come together, to celebrate their town, and last but certainly not least…to be properly caffeinated. They didn’t want it to feel stuffy, and whether you’re a coffee connoisseur or just a casual sipper - you’re welcome in anytime! With that in mind, I used the MM in Common to create a visual representation of people coming together and holding hands. It’s subtle and meant to be enjoyed whether you notice it or not.

Let me know if you see it!

Primary Logo Design

You brand shows up in the world in many different ways, so you need a few versions of your logo in order to look professional and on-brand whenever your logo is needed. This could include a situation where you need a professional logo design in a vertical or horizontal orientation, or in situations with a dark or light background.

Brand Marks & Icons

It’s the “nike swoosh effect.” That’s not a real thing, but you can picture it! When creating a brand mark or icon, the goal is to make your brand recognizable without having to literally put your name on it. You see the swoosh, and you automatically think of Nike! I created a few Logo Marks that Common Grounds Coffee House can utilize across their branding design for use in print, web, social media, and shop merch.

The story behind the “X”

Within the creative branding, I created a logo design that utilizes an X shape. This design utilizes two lines physically coming together to represents the people in this south jersey community that will come together. Making Common Grounds a cornerstone and welcoming location within the neighborhood.

Custom Brand Colors

Colors that are neutral and earthy with a friendly welcoming feel.

Brand Pattern Design

Nothing brings a brand alive and adds a polished and professional look like a brand pattern. A brand pattern allows you to add intentional design elements in places for your clients or community to connect to. I utilized the “X” shape and CG logo mark to create repeating pattern designs. Because coffee shops are fun and inviting, we wanted to create a pattern that felt the same! By using the X icon, I was able to create a treasure map type of look and feel within the pattern. Except in this case, X marks the caffeine…which is basically adult treasure.

Leave a comment and let me know how you feel about the branding design for Common Grounds Coffee House!
